Cathy O’Connor, president and CEO of the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, gave a brief update on projects around downtown Aug. 14 to Oklahoma City Council members.

Construction is underway on the aLoft hotel in Deep Deuce at N.E. Second Street and Walnut Avenue. Developer James Thompson plans to have the $21 million, 135-room hotel open in spring or early summer of 2013.

Developer Ron Bradshaw broke ground last week on the Maywood Apartments at N.E. Fourth Street and Oklahoma Avenue. The $15 million project will have 139 units.

Progress continues at the Hill, at Russell M. Perry and N.E. Second Street. As units continue to sell, the project was approved for a new phase by the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority recently. The land is controlled by OCURA. The Hill features for sale units.
