bricktown development

Growth is taking place across Oklahoma City. More retailers, hotel chains and entertainment acts are choosing the city for new locations and bookings. This is thanks in part to the progress the city has made in development and infrastructure.

For instance, one of Oklahoma City’s oldest districts is beginning to outgrow its parking availability. Bricktown offers lodging, restaurants and recreation and continues to grow with apartments and new entertainment venues. This has brought an unprecedented amount of foot and car traffic to the area.

Plans are in development for an eight-story, 664-space parking garage on the southwest corner of Oklahoma and Sheridan avenues. This structured parking should help to meet high demands in Bricktown. Don Karchmer, a veteran Bricktown developer, will lead the parking garage development.

Plans also include outdoor patios and space for 16,000 square feet of retail along Sheridan Avenue.

Growth also continues for the city’s hotel offerings. Plans for a Canopy by Hilton are being developed and will include a restaurant and bar and parking space in the new garage. The Canopy will feature a modern boutique style, continuing to diversify Bricktown’s overnight accommodations.
