film row, west downtown are growing

Projects are in the works and taking shape in the Film Row/west downtown area of Oklahoma City.

Film Row will welcome the grand opening of the 21C Museum Hotel in the historic Fred Jones Manufacturing Building later this year. Once completed, the 21C Museum Hotel will provide 135 rooms, 14,000 square feet of event space and a restaurant with outdoor dining. The hotel will also feature a contemporary art museum component.

The redevelopment of the historic building has proven to be an economic driver in the surrounding area even before opening its doors. Since plans for the renovation started, ADG has moved its corporate offices into the same building. Additional projects such as the redevelopment of the historic Main Street Arcade and Sunshine Laundry buildings, as well as new apartments and retail space, have been proposed in the area near the hotel.

The Jones Assembly, another proposed development near the 21C Hotel, plans to convert a one-story warehouse at 901 W. Sheridan Ave. into an open-air concert venue, with a restaurant and lounge. A local tile and stone company, Young Brothers Inc., is looking at a major exterior renovation of its office and facilities at 100 Classen Blvd.
