Have you seen the pumpkins of all shapes and sizes being unloaded and arranged at the Myriad Botanical Gardens? The Myriad Gardens Foundation is preparing for the sixth annual Pumpkinville, which will take place Oct. 6-22 at the park.
More than 16,000 pumpkins, scarecrows, straw creatures and mums will decorate the gardens with a festive fall theme. The event is just one of the annual activities that the park has created to bring people downtown to experience nature in the city’s core.
Since its grand reopening in 2011, the foundation has greatly increased the programs and offerings at the park, drawing residents and visitors alike. Last year, more than 200,000 people visited the park for events including movie nights, concerts, children’s events and more.
Some of the most popular events include the “Dancing in the Gardens” series, Sonic Summer Movies Nights, yoga in the park, full-moon bike rides, guided plant walks and Reading Wednesdays for young children.
