OKCPS shares impact of 'Pathway'
February marks six months since the first day of this school year and since the Pathway to Greatness initiative took effect in Oklahoma City Public Schools.
On Feb. 19 we’ll hear an update from OKCPS Superintendent Sean McDaniel at the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber Forum. McDaniel will provide a point-in-time update on the implementation of the Pathway to Greatness initiative, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the impact to the district’s schools and students as well as ask questions.
Pathway to Greatness was announced by the board in early 2019 after careful consideration and in-depth review. Prior to making a recommendation, the Navigators Committee, which I co-chaired, looked at large swaths of data, and heard from teachers, parents and students about community and individual needs. This research allowed us to present a comprehensive plan to reduce the number of school buildings operating in the district and better utilize existing resources, teachers and staff.
