Downtown in December shines bright

Have you recently seen downtown Oklahoma City at night? From Midtown to the Bricktown Canal, the city is draped in bright lights and festive decorations.

Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership, Devon Energy and other corporate sponsors and partners bring Downtown in December – an excellent way our city creates a festive atmosphere that brings people together to play, shop and eat, and encourages the spirit of community.

Downtown in December runs through Jan. 2. This series of holiday events and attractions features outdoor ice skating, afternoon visits with Santa Claus, snow tubing, free water taxi rides, performing arts, shopping and parties. You’ll find holiday concerts and performances at the Civic Center, Chesapeake Arena and Cox Convention Center every weekend. The Myriad Gardens special light show, Illuminations, offers a unique and festive tour of the Crystal Bridge.

Local retailers and artisans offer shoppers unique and one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting local businesses. In addition to local brick-and-mortar retail, the Holiday Pop-Up Shops in Midtown at NW 10th Street and N. Hudson Avenue offer 45 Oklahoma-owned pop-up shops and an urban Christmas tree lot. The geodesic-shaped shops rotate weekly. The Holly Jolly Shops at The Brick on Saturday and Sunday feature retailers, food and activities on the concourse of the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
